Adnan Salim Abu-Surrah received his B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1985 from Qatar University (Excellent with First-Class Honour), M.Sc. degree in 1989 from Jordan University, Ph.D. with the honour degree (summa cum laude) in 1997 from Ulm University in inorganic chemistry and material science. He has worked as adjunct professor in inorganic chemistry and catalysis at Helsinki University, Chemistry Department (2000) and professor of inorganic and materials chemistry at Hashemite University, Chemistry Department (2014). Currently, he is a full professor of inorganic chemistry at Qatar University, Chemistry Department. He has worked as a visiting professor in University of Helsinki (2002), Ulm University (2003), Al-Al-Bayt University (2007), and Technical University of Munich (2011). Published about 80 peer reviewed papers, 10 reviews, 3 books, 40 international conference proceedings and holds a number of patents (Scopus Author ID: 7003503511; h index 23). He is a member of several professional societies, scientific committees, and advisory boards. He received the DAAD Prize- Germany for Excellence in 1996, the German Industry Prize 1997, the Magnus Ehrnrooth award of Science-Finland 1999, the Hisham Hijjawi Award for Applied Sciences in the field of industry and energy in 2002, the Hashemite University Distinguished Professor Award in 2002, and the SCOPUS (ELSEVIER) award in recognition for contribution to Science", 2009.
